CEREC

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic) is a highly innovative method of creating dental restorations right in the dental office. Used typically to repair damaged teeth from injury or decay, CEREC can be used to manufacture Crowns, Inlays and Onlays, Fixed Bridges, Veneers, Dental Implant Restorations, and other dental procedures. The process involves first numbing and preparing the affected tooth/teeth, and then scanning your mouth in order to get an accurate impression. Then, using specialized computer software, a custom-made model of your restoration will be designed for your teeth and mouth. The specific design specifications are then communicated to special grinding or milling equipment that creates the restoration with a very high degree of accuracy. The restoration is then placed in your mouth and adjusted accordingly. Finally, the restoration will be bonded to your tooth/teeth, and you’re done! The benefits of CEREC include receiving dental restoration in a single visit, rather than multiple visits, which limits disruption to your schedule and the stress of multiple dental visits. Furthermore, the technology is very accurate and allows for your dental professional to maintain more control over the entire process. Finally, completing a restoration in a single visit rather than multiple visits avoids any need for temporary solutions, which can be stressful to care for, and increases risks for having dental problems while you have the temporary solution.

DIAGNOdent

Diagnodent | Core Dental | General & Family Dentist | Downtown Calgary

DIAGNOdent technology uses a laser examination tool to help in the detection of cavities, allowing dental specialists to diagnose, treat, and prevent tooth decay more effectively. Diagnodent is a pen-like hand-held probe that sends a non-invasive, painless, and safe laser light into the affected tooth which can detect and measure tooth decay in every stage of dental cavities. Most cavities occur on the surface of the tooth, where it is easily visible to see and diagnose using traditional tools and techniques like bite-wing X-rays. However, some less accessible or less visible instances of decay may not be picked up using those tools. DIAGNOdent is extremely effective in spotting even the tiniest lesions at the earliest stages, allowing for treatment of issues that would often be missed on x-rays and visible dental inspection

Diode Laser

The Diode Laser is a light and cordless laser that creates wavelengths that produce monochromatic light when stimulated electrically. Diode lasers have the usual benefits of any laser including easy application, better coagulation, no suturing, and faster recovery while being more compact, easily transportable from place to place, affordable and easy to use. A simple laser pointer is an example of a diode laser. Effective for a wide range of intraoral soft tissue procedures, in both contact and non-contact mode (they can be used for any restorative or periodontal treatment) like gingivectomy, biopsy, impression troughing, and frenectomy, they are a convenient and effective choice for dental practices. Diode lasers also exhibit bactericidal capabilities and can be used for adjunctive periodontal procedures.
