Placement of porcelain veneers takes two visits to our Calgary office – one of the quickest smile makeover treatments available. In the first visit, Dr. Orth begins by administering a local anesthetic. Next, he gently shaves away a small portion of the tooth to accommodate the veneer. Then, he makes a mold of the teeth and mouth, which he sends to the dental laboratory that will custom-craft the veneers. Until the permanent veneers are ready, patients will wear a temporary veneer for about a week. When the permanent veneers are ready, patients return for their second visit to our office. In this visit, Dr. Orth begins by administering a local anesthetic. He then gently removes the temporary veneers and bonds the permanent ones to the front of the tooth.
