At Core Dental, we are pleased to provide beautiful ceramic restorations using CEREC® technology. Serving communities near the Calgary and Red Deer areas, our CEREC® dentist crafts dental crowns, porcelain veneers, and bridges in just one office visit, while the patient relaxes in the dentist’s chair. Patients who receive CEREC® restorations enjoy fewer injections and less drilling, and they can leave our office with their complete tooth restoration. We invite you to contact Core Dental to learn more about this remarkably convenient restorative option.
Dentists who offer CEREC® must be certified to use the technology. To become certified CEREC® providers, dentists must first undergo in-depth training, including an intensive two-day basic training course with a certified CEREC® dentist. Since Dr. Kim Orth has undergone this special training, patients from Calgary and as far as Red Deer contact our CEREC® dentist to receive the striking results for which he is known.
For our patients from Calgary, Red Deer, and nearby areas, our CEREC® dentist creates porcelain veneers, dental crowns, and dental bridges made of beautiful, durable, all-ceramic materials. The materials are heat- and cold-resistant, so they do not cause extreme sensitivity to temperature changes. CEREC® restorations are comparable to laboratory restorations in their fit, function, and appearance, making them an excellent option for smile makeovers.
The entire CEREC® procedure is performed in just one visit to our office in Calgary, where patients can receive dental crowns, porcelain veneers, and bridges in as little as one hour. During this appointment, Dr. Orth first examines the tooth to determine the appropriate restoration. Next, he administers a local anesthetic before he prepares the tooth, using air abrasion or another method to remove damaged tooth structure, if necessary. After preparing the tooth, Dr. Orth takes an optical impression of the tooth – a step that takes about two minutes and utilizes a digital image of the tooth instead of messy, goopy trays.
Then, Dr. Orth uses the CEREC® machine to craft the restoration. The CEREC® software converts the digital image of the tooth into a 3D model on the computer screen. Next, Dr. Orth custom-designs the restoration from this model and enters the data into the computer. In about 10 to 20 minutes, the CEREC® machine crafts the dental crown, porcelain veneer, or dental bridge. Finally, the dentist places the restoration and bonds it in place, adjusting it to fit perfectly with the surrounding teeth and bite.
Dr. Kim Orth is pleased to offer CEREC® technology since it allows patients from throughout Calgary, Red Deer, and surrounding areas to receive beautiful porcelain veneers, dental crowns, and bridges in just one office visit. Having a tooth restored is more convenient now than ever before, thanks to CEREC®. Contact Core Dental to learn more about how you may benefit from this amazing technology.
